“O Be Joyful” Music for Choir, Brass and Organ

Our Christmas concert this year is (as usual) in St. Mary Brookfield Church, Dartmouth Park Rd, London NW5 1SL on Saturday 5th December at 19:30 to perform joyful pieces with trumpets. Rutter’s Gloria has been described as “exalted, devotional and jubilant”, starting and finishing with fanfares.  Chilcott‘s Jubilate uses text from Psalm 100 and a poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins. That’s all very modern, so we’re also going back to the 16th century with Gabrielli’s motet “O Magnum Mysterium”.  We’ll add one or two carols arranged for the choir and something for the audience to sing along with.

We’ll finish perfoming at about 21:30, when there will be a range of refreshments (wine, fruit juice, mince pies and more) available after the concert for a small donation.  Tickets will be available online closer to the concert time, or at the door (but door tickets are cash only).
